What is an Oxygen Concentrator?

An oxygen concentrator is a medical device that concentrates the oxygen from a gas supply (usually ambient air) to provide an enriched oxygen supply for medical use.

Oxygen concentrators are used to increase the oxygen concentration in the blood of a patient suffering from hypoxia, which is a medical emergency.

Medtech’s Oxygen Concentrator:

Medtech’s oxygen concentrators are easy to use and deliver continuous flow of oxygen, without the need to refill like oxygen tanks. Medtech’s electric oxygen concentrators are equipped with a transom filter, intake filter, humidifier, oxygen tube, power cord, power switch, safety valve, and all other needed parts to ensure the delivery of purified oxygen safely.

Medtech’s oxygen concentrators are very quiet and don't make noise, this feature is helpful for people who need to use the device at night. Medtech oxygen concentrators are very safe.

They have built-in safety features that protect the user from fire and electrical hazards. The power loss, high and low-pressure alarm function and high and low-temperature alarm function makes their operations more convenient and reliable. The attached humidifier bottle maintains oxygen humidity to avoid respiratory discomfort during usage.

How to use an Oxygen Concentrator?

  • Check the concentrator’s power source. Make sure the power cord is plugged and the concentrator is turned on.
  • Connect the tubing. Attach the tubing to the outlet on the concentrator.
  • Put on the nasal cannula. The nasal cannula is a small, curved tube that rests just inside the nostrils. It is connected to the tubing from the concentrator.
  • Adjust the flow rate. The oxygen flow rate is the amount of oxygen that is delivered to the body per minute. It is typically set by a doctor or respiratory therapist and should not be changed without medical guidance.
  • Breathe normally. There is no need to take deep breaths or force the oxygen into the lungs. Just breathe normally and allow the oxygen to flow into the body.
  • Check the cannula and tubing periodically. Make sure the cannula is still in place and that the tubing is not blocked.
  • Disconnect the tubing when finished. When you are done using the concentrator, disconnect the tubing and turn off the power.

How does the Oxygen Concentrator work?

Oxygen concentrators work by drawing in air from the surrounding environment and passing it through a series of filters. The filters remove nitrogen and other impurities from the air, leaving behind pure oxygen. The oxygen is then stored in a tank until it is needed. Oxygen concentrators are portable devices that can be used at home, in a hospital, or in other settings.
